Le Specs Sunglasses: Celebrity Fans 2023

Usually, when the celeb set adopt a certain brand, our bank accounts wince… but this season Le Specs sunglasses are the frames appearing on every influencer from London to LA. And frankly, we’re thrilled, because most of the Australian brands’ designs ring in at under £100!

Le Specs is a hot contender for sunglasses brand of summer 2023. GLAMOUR's theory? It’s partly to do with that sweet spot price-point but it’s also down to the fact that the range of shades available are truly epic… there is every kind of frame silhouette to suit every face shape, in every colour and finish, with all the classics and edgy trends ticked off. Comprehensive doesn’t even come close to describing the array of sunglasses Le Specs creates.

They also have cute names like Tragic Magic and So Into You, if you care about such things. Hey, we do. But where Le Specs truly excel is in their clever collaborations.

The brand first registered on the fashion pack’s radar with the elegant cats-eye style, The Last Lolita, which they created in partnership with US-based designer Adam Selman. Simone Ashley wore the style last year and they're a certified cult classic.

This Summer Le Specs have teamed up with dreamy jewellery brand Missoma to create a capsule collection of super cool shades a galaxy of stars have been keen to wear. Pieces from the collaboration do cost upwards of £100, but that’s still around £200 less than styles from other designer brands…

Who wears Le Specs sunglasses?

Meghan Markle, for a start. She's been a fan of the brand since 2019 when she wore the Air Heart in New York. They're oversized and classically glam and this year, Olivia Palermo, has been holidaying in the style. Lovers of super-sized shades might also want to investigate the Enthusiplastic style, which are mysteriously big (but won't swamp your face) and are made with 70% recycled acrylic too.

This summer, sunglasses, as with most things in our wardrobe, are having a Y2K make-over. Smaller frames are more on trend and rectangular or oval shapes are some of the hottest silhouettes to rock. Olivia Rodrigo has been spotted in Outta Love, an elongated oval style, as has Gigi Hadid, who chose a pale-framed colour of the retro-feel style.

Le Specs is adored equally by all genders, thanks to their unisex fit on most frames. Justin Bieber is a regular in Dot Com - a wraparound style that’s new for 2023. These frames are an homage to millennial club culture and the vibe is sporty and clubby. They’re ideal if you have a festival or holiday to Ibiza in the diary… Bieber has them in red, white and navy.

He’s also a fan of Slinky, another retro-styled pair of rimless shades that come in metallic purple with mirrored lenses. (Can it get any more Noughties?)

Original icon Madonna wears Le Specs Y2OK sunglasses. We adore the golden finish of these vintage-feel frames. They’re semi-rimless, but are 100% rave inspired and the golden lenses have a flash mirror coating. Wear them with similarly golden toned swimwear on the beach, on the dance floor or on your commute.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one of the stars to gravitate to the Le Specs x Missoma collaboration choosing the Serpens Link in ivory. There’s a flash of gold from the hardware, malachite stones and chain link detailing. Stunning. Blue Ivy has also been seen out and about in the Hydrus Link shades, as part of the collaboration too.

Another reason we’ve concluded that everyone stans Le Specs sunglasses are the fact they’re all seriously constructed with most styles having shatterproof or scratch resistant lenses and UV protection. Sunglasses with style with substance? We love to see it.
