The Forth Road Bridge has been closed completely due to ongoing structural issues.
Motorists are advised to avoid the bridge if possible and plan their commute in advance, with diversions in place via the Kincardine Bridge.
There is no scheduled time as to when the bridge will reopen although it has been indicated it could be at least 24 hours.
Commuters have faced major problems on the bridge since Wednesday morning when defects were discovered in the Steelwork. Since then further inspections have identified eight other parts of the bridge where similar problems could be encountered.
Officials have stressed however, there is no immediate danger of a major structural failure and the closure is just a precautionary action.
