Fleishman Is In Trouble: Everything You Need To Know About The TV Show

Fleishman Is In Trouble has hit Disney+ in the UK, and it has proven itself to be one of the streaming service's newest binge-able hits. As yet another television series based on a best-selling book, the series, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Claire Danes, has got a lot of people talking about its epic performances.

So, if you have yet to get on board the hype train for this new series, let us give you a little introduction about the series, which has all of us ugly crying.

What is Fleishman Is In Trouble about?

The mini-series follows the protagonist, Toby Fleishman, in his endeavours as a newly single man seeming quite optimistic about his post-divorce opportunities, be that in life, dating apps, his career and his newfound freedom. Having married his former wife, Rachael, at the end of medical school, years of bickering led the couple astray, and Toby finally felt ready to embrace the sexual freedom that he had never experienced in his youth. That is until his ex-wife drops off the face of the planet, leaving him with his 11-year-old and 9-year-old children with no explanation and a big deviation in his summer plans.

The plot synopsis states, “As he balances parenting, the return of old friends Libby and Seth, a potential promotion at the hospital that is a long time coming – and all the eligible women that Manhattan has to offer – he realises that he’ll never be able to figure out what happened to Rachael until he can finally face what happened to their marriage in the first place”.

Who stars in Fleishman Is In Trouble?

Starring Claire Danes, Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Eisenberg, I think it’s safe to say the cast lineup is pretty impressive.

The role of Toby Fleishman is played by Jesse Eisenberg, best known for his role in ‘The Social Network’, who will feature alongside Emmy-winning actress, Claire Danes, playing Toby’s ex-wife, Rachael.

The power duo will also be joined by Lizzy Caplan as Toby’s friend Lizzy. Toby’s children will be played by Meara Mahoney Gross and Maxim Swinton.

What has the reaction been from viewers?

There has been a lot of award-season praise for Claire, with one person commenting: “E7 of #fleishmanisintrouble is one of the most devastating episodes of television I’ve ever seen. No one breaks my heart like Claire Danes.” Another added: “Started watching #fleishmanisintrouble and I need to know if Claire Danes has gotten some industry accolades and nominations this season.” A third added: “Between Episode 7 of #FleishmanIsInTrouble and the wildness that is #TheEssexSerpent Claire Danes has cemented herself as one of the best television actresses of our time.”

Is there a trailer?

Yes, check it out below:

Will there be a season two of Fleishman Is In Trouble?

The show was billed as a mini-series with no plans (as of yet) for it to return for a second season, so we suggest pacing out the episodes if you want the show to last longer!
